Aletta Rochat DTM (Region Advisor for Europe, Middle East and Africa) is visiting District 71 to support our clubs and members and to promote Toastmasters. She is a professional speaker, trainer and author. Aletta will be speaking at a variety of events in Ireland & Scotland.
Aletta lives in Cape Town, South Africa and is the author of ‘The Wedding Speaker’s Guide’, a guide to make sure that Wedding Speakers are remembered – for all the right reasons! She is a Distinguished Toastmaster. As Region Advisor, Rochat is a working ambassador of Toastmasters International.

At the recent November Conference in Dublin, a large number of members were recognised for their achievements over the past year. The following people received top awards
- John Kendall – Area Director of the Year (Area 20)
- Constance Turner – Division Director of the Year (Division G)
- Karen O’Donnell – Toastmaster of the Year (Dublin 18 Toastmasters)
The majority of the clubs in District 71 are doing very well and actively working toward fulfilling their Distinguished Club Plan goals. There are 17 clubs in the District that have already achieved Distinguished Club status and Congratulations goes out to each of them. The Top Three Clubs in the District as of 26 Nov ’16 are as follows;
- Dublin Club 8 DCP Points
- Cambridge Speakers Club 7 DCP Points
- Glasgow Toastmasters 7 DCP Points
