March Public Relations Update

The acid test of a club’s public relations can be counted as the number of inquiries and guests it receives. Close to that are the number of new members joining of which TI keeps statistics. The average club has attracted 6.6 new members in the period 1st July to 22 Feb which is in the ball park of the last three years (See chart), but we could aim to be the best of the past five years by 30th June.
The picture is variable. Nearly 20 clubs have not yet attracted a new member and a third of clubs have not yet gained 4 new members. In contrast. the best club has already got 34 new members and may split this year.
A top tip is to record guests and inquiries and ask how they heard about you. Do that and you are a long way towards working smarter not just harder.
New member statistics can be tracked on Toastmasters International Dashboard Just search for your club. You can select the dates at the top to go back in time. Another good statistics source is George Marshall’s TM Tools for Toastmasters
There are 7,270 Euros of Public Relation Rewards virtually UNCLAIMED!
I am relying on clubs to claim and you can backdate to 1st September.
Have you claimed your open night? Have you started a new PR activity or channel? Have you encouraged your members to visit other clubs, or had visitors to your club, and claim their Traveling Toasties? Have you done a club video project? or a club Wow!Factor project?
