Where Leaders Area Made Challenge (16 April-30th April 2020)

Toastmasters International extended the spring dues renewal period to 30th April to allow for the impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic. To inspire that final renewals-drive to return clubs to good standing, before 1st of May, the successful Clubs went into a draw:

  • The first Five will receive a “Where Leaders Are Made” T-Shirt (ordered to size, range 3XL to Small), and
  • The next Twenty will receive a “Where Leaders Are Made” pin badge.

Congratulation to the 49 clubs returned to good standing in the period. These are the five clubs drawing a T-Shirt,

Mar 19 Public Relations Update

March Public Relations Update

By Daniel Sandars Public Relations Manager

The acid test of a club’s public relations can be counted as the number of inquiries and guests it receives. Close to that are the number of new members joining of which TI keeps statistics. The average club has attracted 6.6 new members in the period 1st July to 22 Feb which is in the ball park of the last three years (See chart), but we could aim to be the best of the past five years by 30th June.

The picture is variable. Nearly 20 clubs have not yet attracted a new member and a third of clubs have not yet gained 4 new members. In contrast. the best club has already got 34 new members and may split this year.

A top tip is to record guests and inquiries and ask how they heard about you. Do that and you are a long way towards working smarter not just harder.

New member statistics can be tracked on Toastmasters International Dashboard Just search for your club. You can select the dates at the top to go back in time. Another good statistics source is George Marshall’s TM Tools for Toastmasters

There are 7,270 Euros of Public Relation Rewards virtually UNCLAIMED!

I am relying on clubs to claim and you can backdate to 1st September.

Have you claimed your open night? Have you started a new PR activity or channel? Have you encouraged your members to visit other clubs, or had visitors to your club, and claim their Traveling Toasties? Have you done a club video project? or a club Wow!Factor project?

Club Growth News

Club Growth MapThe thrilling news is that on the 10th of September Walsall Speakers club received its charter, becoming the District’s 203rd club and our first new club this Toastmaster’s year. Walsall is located just North of Birmingham (see map) in Division E in Area 39. It has taken nearly two years to reach charter status from the initial demonstration meeting. That journey has been navigated by the Club’s Sponsors Tanya and Michele (Mish) Barad. They are now assisted by Club Mentor Asma Riaz to help develop strong foundations for the Club.

At a recent club meeting of Fexco, Killorglin, County Kerry (see Map), Club Growth Director Gerard Mannix presented the club banner to Siobhan Colborne, President of Fexco Payments Toastmasters Club.

Sincere congratulations to Siobhan as she has been the brainchild and founder of this club. She was assisted by Toastmasters Debby Looney and Rachel Pinckheard. The club is thriving with regular very proactive and well attended meetings
