About me, I am a qualified accountant and project manager, currently working in the HSE (equivalent to the NHS) as an SAP trainer.
I am living in Wicklow and married to Aidan. We have 3 wonderful girls and 1 fantastic dog!
Toastmasters has been life changing for me, both in my career and personal life. It has opened doors I did not know even existed! I love the role of PQD as I am passionate about training and I know with a little help, all members can achieve their Toastmasters and personal goals.
How I have benefited from my Toastmasters experience
I have learned the skills of presenting effectively in front of an audience and online. In particular, practicing speaking off the cuff has been a brilliant skill to develop. I have undertaken a number of leadership roles which have been very beneficial in progressing my career. I have also enhanced my network as a result of membership and I continue to establish excellent working relationships with wonderful members from all over the world.
What most excites me about my District role
I love the challenge of being involved in initiatives I would not normally encounter in my current career. I also really enjoy the camaraderie and team spirit at the DLT level along with learning new skills from the Leadership Team.
What I would say to someone considering a Toastmasters leadership position is....
A leadership position in Toastmasters gives you a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow. By the end of your term, you will not believe how much you have progressed and achieved.
