Mary McHugh has been in toastmasters over twenty years. She is very quiet and obliging, working for the common good. I told her ten years ago I was thinking of setting up a toastmaster’s group in Tallaght and immediately she offered to help. She is an exceptional speaker and leader, filling many roles in Tallaght toastmasters since then.
At present she is our president bring a calm mind to all our challenges. She is an excellent listener and friend to all in our group. Other groups contact her to fill roles when stuck and during competitions, the answer is generally yes.
She is a toastmaster who has no interest in Area or division Directorships, keeping her energy for her club and its members. The outstanding toastmasters are not always those who do the big jobs, at area and district level. I see Mary as an outstanding individual and toastmaster.
