Belfast Toastmasters held their annual summer outing and meeting on Rathlin Island, off the North Coast of Co. Antrim, on Sunday 24th May. About 20 members and friends shared lifts to the ferry port of Ballycastle, took the ferry to Rathlin and then walked to a sunny cove where a meeting and picnic was held, against the vista of the North Channel and the Scottish coast. Four members completed pathway speeches, which helped the Club catch up with educational targets.
Hannah McKinm not only completed her assignment,”Why Do Men Behave This Way” but was also able to rehearse it as her forthcoming TEDx Presentation, due to be delivered on 25th June in Belfast, and was assisted by a human version of Powerpoint, Thanks are due to Sharon Austin, who was responsible for initiating the event and congratulations are due to our long standing member Kerena Crowe, who was a celebrating a significant birthday.
Having grown to 43 members in recent years, it can be a challenge to find sufficient speaking slots at normal meetings and events such as these, visits to other clubs and online speaking events are invaluable.
The event was beautifully photographed by Kamil Kornakowski and Priyadarshini Khandekar.
