District 71 proudly recognises James Finnegan as Toastmaster of the Year 2026, honouring his dedicated and distinguished service to members across the UK and Ireland.
The “Gaylord Giles” trophy, named after the former District 71 Governor , now District Director, was presented at the Rose Conference in Tralee
As Conference Director, James and his Team delivered an inspiring and varied programme under the theme “Let Your Confidence Bloom”.
James’s contribution to the District extends well beyond this year’s conference. He has previously been named District VPPR of the Year in 2021, received the “Above and Beyond” Award in 2024 and he attained his Distinguished Toastmaster award in 2025.
In accepting the award, James credited his team and fellow members, and wholeheartedly shared the award with all his colleagues on the Rose Conference Team, the 2025 All Ireland Bus Tour Team and the Excellence in Leadership Team.
James is the new VPE in Cornerstone Communicators Toastmasters.
District 71 congratulates him on this well‑deserved achievement.
