PR Connect: Bringing District 71 Together Through Collaboration, Creativity and Fun
The role of Vice President Public Relations (VPPR) is one of the most important and creative roles within a Toastmasters club. VPPRs are the storytellers, communicators and champions who help showcase the energy, achievements and opportunities within their clubs. Yet, while every VPPR is working towards a common goal, we can sometimes work in isolation, facing similar challenges and coming up with great ideas without having the opportunity to share them with others.
PR Connect has been created to change that.
The aim of PR Connect is simple: to connect, share, learn and have fun together. It provides an opportunity for VPPRs across District 71 to come together regularly, build relationships and create a supportive network where ideas and creativity can flourish.
These sessions are not about being an expert in public relations. They are about learning from one another. Every VPPR brings different experiences, perspectives and ideas. One club may have found an innovative way to promote meetings on social media, another may have developed a successful approach to attracting guests, while another may have created an engaging campaign to celebrate club achievements. By sharing these experiences, we can help one another to become more effective and confident in our roles.
PR Connect will also provide a space to explore the challenges that come with the role. How do we get our club noticed? How can we create engaging content? What makes a great social media post? How can we promote our club while staying true to the Toastmasters brand? And how can we make PR something that is enjoyable rather than another task on the agenda?
Through collaboration, we can find the answers together.
The sessions will be interactive, creative and practical, with opportunities to exchange ideas, explore new approaches, learn useful tools and develop skills that can be taken straight back to our clubs. We will also introduce opportunities for masterclasses and shared learning on key areas of PR and communications.
But PR Connect is about more than PR.
It is about people, relationships and community. It is about creating connections between VPPRs who may never otherwise have the opportunity to meet. It is about celebrating successes, supporting each other through challenges and creating a sense that, across District 71, we are part of one larger Toastmasters community.
And importantly, it is about having fun.
Public relations should be creative, energetic and engaging. Our PR Connect sessions will reflect that spirit. We want to experiment, exchange ideas, laugh, learn and inspire one another.
Together, we can make the visibility of our clubs stronger, our communication more creative and our VPPR experience more rewarding.
