The first District Conference I went to changed my Toastmasters life – forever.
It was November 2017 in Sheffield. Several of us from Cork travelled over.
I had no idea there were so many friendly people in our District. So many
strangers welcomed me warmly – were interested in me – at the “Newcomers to
Conference” meeting – at the “Anglo-Irish” meeting – in the bar – throughout the
whole experience. I was blown away.
I’ve never forgotten meeting Michael C Clarke, Laura Bruce, Red Skelton, Anthony
Day (RIP), Moira Beaton, and others.
It opened my eyes to Toastmasters International. I felt so fortunate to be a
member.
