Building Better Clubs Through Better Leadership
The Greatest Incentive Isn’t a Coin… It’s Your Members
Every Toastmasters club shares a common mission: to provide a supportive and positive learning environment where every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
The greatest incentive for achieving 7 out of 7 trained Club Officers isn’t a coin or a prize.
It’s your members.
Every Club Officer accepted a position of trust. By saying “yes” to your role, you committed to leading your club, supporting your members and creating an outstanding Toastmasters experience.
Club Officer Training is one of the ways we honour that commitment.
Club Officer Training helps us fulfil the Toastmasters mission. It equips us to lead our clubs with confidence, support our members effectively and create the quality club experience that every member deserves.
When we accept a Club Officer role, we accept more than a title—we accept responsibility for helping our club fulfil the Toastmasters mission. Training prepares us to lead with confidence, support our fellow officers and deliver the best possible experience for every member.
Today’s Toastmasters environment is more challenging than ever. Membership dues have increased, meaning members rightly expect an outstanding club experience. Prospective members have more choice than ever before. Clubs that provide engaging meetings, strong leadership and a welcoming culture are the clubs that thrive.
Our District’s experience consistently shows that clubs investing in officer training are often the clubs with stronger membership, higher engagement and better member experiences.
“Great clubs are not built by chance. They are built by leaders who choose to prepare, collaborate and continually improve.”
When officers train together, they gain practical knowledge, exchange ideas with leaders from other clubs, build valuable support networks and return better equipped to serve their members.
“Members don’t join Toastmasters because their officers are trained. They stay because they experience the difference trained officers make.”
If we’re asking members to invest more in Toastmasters, we should be willing to invest a few hours in becoming better leaders for them.
Training demonstrates the Toastmasters Core Values in action:
- Integrity – honouring the commitment we accepted as Club Officers.
- Respect – investing in ourselves so we can better support others.
- Service – giving members the very best club experience.
- Excellence – continually learning and improving as leaders.
A club with 7 out of 7 trained officers sends a powerful message:
“Our members matter enough for every one of us to invest in becoming a better leader.”
Meet The Magnificent 7
Every successful Toastmasters club relies on seven elected Club Officers.
When all seven officers commit to completing their Club Officer Training, they become The Magnificent 7—a leadership team united by a shared commitment to Integrity, Respect, Service and Excellence.
The Magnificent 7 don’t attend training simply because it’s expected.
They attend because they understand that delivering the Toastmasters mission begins with prepared leaders.
They lead by example.
They support one another.
They share ideas.
They learn together.
They grow together.
And because they grow together, their club grows stronger too.
Every club deserves a Magnificent 7.
The Greatest Leaders Never Stop Learning… and Never Stop Sharing
Whether this is your first year as a Club Officer or your fifteenth, your presence matters.
New officers need your encouragement.
Experienced officers need your perspective.
Every club benefits when every officer is in the room.
Perhaps you’ve attended Club Officer Training many times before.
Perhaps you’ve served in your role for several years.
Perhaps you feel you’ve heard it all before.
If that’s the case, we especially encourage you to attend.
“If you think you’ve heard it all before, come and help someone who hasn’t.”
Club Officer Training isn’t simply about learning procedures or hearing the latest information.
It is an opportunity to exchange ideas, solve challenges, share successful practices and strengthen one another.
Toastmasters has always been built on members learning from members. Every Club Officer Training session is an opportunity not only to learn, but also to share your experience so that every club—and every member—benefits.
The newest officers bring fresh ideas.
Experienced officers bring wisdom gained through experience.
Together, they create stronger clubs.
The best leaders never stop learning.
The greatest leaders never stop sharing what they have learned.
That is leadership.
That is service.
That is Toastmasters.

Why It Matters
Club Officer Training is not about ticking a Distinguished Club Program box.
It is about helping our clubs fulfil the Toastmasters mission.
It is about creating a supportive and positive learning environment.
It is about giving every member the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills.
It is about helping members build confidence and achieve personal growth.
It is about preparing ourselves to lead with excellence.
Prepared leaders create better clubs.
Better clubs create better member experiences.
Better member experiences build stronger clubs.
Leadership isn’t demonstrated by accepting a Club Officer role.
Leadership is demonstrated by preparing yourself to fulfil it.
Our Challenge to Every Club
Every member deserves a quality club.
Every quality club deserves prepared leaders.
Every prepared leadership team becomes…
The Magnificent 7
Seven Officers.
One Leadership Team.
One Commitment to Excellence.
One Magnificent 7.
7 for 7 – Excellence Begins with Leadership
Will your club become The Magnificent 7?
The Practicalities
Officers Holding Different Roles
If you serve as an officer in multiple clubs and hold different officer roles, you must complete the training requirements for each individual role.
Training Options
For each role, you may either attend an in-person Club Officer Training session or complete the online modules and the 60-minute live Club Officer Connect session.
Officers Holding the Same Role in Multiple Clubs
If you serve in multiple clubs in the same officer role, you only need to complete the training once for that role.
Training Credit
Once you complete the required training, you will receive credit for that role in every club where you serve in the same position.
It takes on average 7 working days for the credit to be assigned to your club so please get your training completed sooner rather than later.
