This is a tip for small clubs looking for new members: think big and invite a well-known local personality as a guest speaker.
Our club is based in the middle of Norfolk, so choosing Becky Jago, an ITV news presenter for Anglia TV proved very popular, with good attendance from our club members, our Area Director and a guest or two. Becky enjoyed watching us do Table Topics, entertained us all with her speech, inspired us all but also said that she found our club inspiring and would tell others about us.
We finished the evening in our usual way, with 10 questions from our Harkmaster, with chocolates as rewards for right answers – and Becky joined in with a will! A memorable evening for everyone involved.
