HearthKeepers - Member Moments

This is a challenge for the HearthKeepers team.  Find out more about HearthKeepers.

The Challenge

Record an interview with as many members of your club as you can and post on the District 71 Web Site.

The Member Moments challenge will run from 1 August to 30 September 2024

How to do it

Use your phone or camera to to record short interviews with as many of your club members as you can.  This is an opportunity to find out about your fellow club members and share their stories with the world.

You can do the recordings yourself but think about how you can get other people involved by getting other people
involved? It’s up to you to decide the best way to get this done, and we would love to hear how creative you have been.

The interviews can be very short – maybe one minute, maybe a little more. Talk about the member – why they joined Toastmasters, how they believe they have benefitted from Toastmasters and what they want to work on now they have been in Toastmasters for a while. Maybe get them to tell you a family-friendly joke. You could prepare the interviewee by giving them the questions in advance.

Make sure to state their name and your club at the beginning.  We recommend recording the video in portrait mode.

What you get

The main benefit of joining this challenge is that you’ll get to know your fellow club members better.  You’ll also have a video and testimonials that you can use to promote your club (with their consent).

The District’s PR team may also share your videos, amplifing your message and helping more people to find your club.

If that’s not enough, the District will be celebrating and recognising the members and clubs that participate.

Final tips

Remember that challenges should be fun. Have a laugh with it, laughter is contagious.
