Sarinca joined Toastmasters in 2016 as she was looking to improve her skillset in public speaking and build greater confidence in leadership roles. She works as an accounting specialist in the financial services industry.

She lives in Glasgow, with husband David and her daughter Victoria. She originally hales from Bonaire in the Caribbean and enjoys an annual sojourn back home to family and friends during the Summer.

 


How I have benefited from my Toastmasters experience
I have met some wonderful new friends, gained great confidence in dealing with teams and become a motivating force working in leadership roles. My job involves working from home primarily online which can often create challenges in building a rapport with clients and colleagues from time to time.

What most excites me about my District role
Being the Zoom Lead gives me the opportunity to work with other District Leaders. It has encouraged me to stretch my capabilities and work internationally in alternative Districts beyond District 71. I also love how technology is constantly evolving and delivering new ways and means of communicating and engaging with members.

What I would say to someone considering a Toastmasters leadership position is....
This is your moment, take that leap of faith, it will inspire you to greatness. Always grant yourself new learning opportunities, particularly those who have no technical background or even if you possess some knowledge in the technology space.
