Derek Walsh

Derek is a highly experienced Toastmaster with five years of dedicated service. He is a member of the Mullingar Toastmasters, a club he considers his strong home club. His commitment and leadership skills were recognized when he served as Area Director during the 2024/2025 Toastmasters year, an achievement that culminated in him being named Area Director of the Year.

Throughout his Toastmasters journey, he has also held various officer roles, including Secretary, Sergeant at Arms, and Treasurer, across multiple clubs. For Derek, Toastmasters has been a transformative experience, providing a platform for him to validate his own life experiences and, most importantly, conquer his fear of public speaking.
