The responsibilities of the Contests Excellence team include:
- Develop a training program for Contest Chairs and Chief Judges
- Recruit, train, and oversee contest officials for contests run by the District
- Encourage contest participation and provide guidance to contestants
- Coordinate a comprehensive calendar for speech contests run by the District
- Establish a system for tracking and recognizing contest winners
- Work with Area Directors, Division Directors and the annual conference team to run high quality contests
- Work with District PR to promote contests and celebrate winners
