Sponsoring a new club

Sponsor Definition:  A New Club Sponsor is a Toastmaster who assists in the formation of a club before its charter is granted.

Benefits

Sponsor Credit is assigned (the official duties of a New Club Sponsor are considered complete) when Toastmasters International issues the official club charter.  (up to two Sponsors may be assigned to a club)

Sponsor Recognition

  • Each Sponsor receives a pin upon assignment.
  • A certificate will be sent to each Sponsor upon successful completion.
  • Sponsor are recognised in May at the annual district conference.

Main responsibilities

Sponsors work in collaboration with the District Club Growth Director’s team to:

  • Market the new club idea to prospective members
  • Help with meetings – the demonstration meeting, introductory meetings to establish the foundation of the club
  • Assist with completion of new club charter forms and payment of fees
  • Plan the charter presentation
  • The sponsors names and member numbers should be listed on the Application to Organize or provided to world headquarters before the charter date.
  • The sponsoring clubs names and member numbers should be listed on the Application to Organize or provided to world headquarters before the charter date.
  • Sponsors are expected to do a monthly educational presentation to the new club for its first six months in order to support the new club and Mentor(s).

How to apply

Sponsors should be approved by the Club Growth Director
