Attending the Edinburgh event was genuinely worthwhile. It was great to meet members from across the country and put faces to names you usually only see in meetings and online. The sessions were high quality and, importantly, interactive — not just listening but doing, discussing and seeing concepts visually, which really helped things stick in memory.
I came away with a much clearer understanding of Toastmasters as an organisation and practical ideas I can bring back to strengthen our club. But the value wasn’t limited to Toastmasters roles — the communication, confidence and networking aspects carry directly into professional and personal life as well. Speaking to experienced members whose contributions you often hear about was particularly helpful, and it was encouraging to see how approachable everyone was. I would strongly recommend attending similar events if you get the chance — you gain far more than you expect. – Claire
