In November 2025, Dundee Toastmasters successfully delivered a Speechcraft programme for international ATM company NCR Atleos at their UK offices in Dundee. The programme was led by Michèle Blackwood (Pathways Champion Div S) alongside fellow members Caroline Cooper, Claire Downie (Club President) and Julia Martineau (Area 43 Director).
Participants were provided access to Speechcraft online learning resources, giving them structured guidance to build on between sessions. Across four intensive workshops, the Toastmasters team recreated the format of a mini Toastmasters meeting, enabling participants to actively develop their speaking, listening and leadership skills.
Throughout the programme, the Toastmasters team delivered educational presentations, offered constructive feedback, and provided one-to-one mentorship. Participants wrote and presented their own speeches, learned how to evaluate and give constructive feedback, introduced fellow speakers, took on various meeting roles, and enthusiastically engaged in Table Topics impromptu speaking.
Feedback from the participants at NCR Atleos was overwhelmingly positive. They all reported increased confidence when giving presentations and described the learning format as both fun and engaging. Their only complaint was that there weren’t more sessions!
The Dundee Toastmasters team looks forward to future opportunities to support professional development within the local community.
